🗣 Finding Our Student Voice 🗣 The UnifiEd Student Voice Team Blog Surrounding Student Life
Hello! My name is Liliana. I am a freshman at Red Bank High School. I am someone who loves to bring change, lift voices, and help those who need it. After Sophia (Lead Student Coordinator at...
Red Bank High School) reached out to me about this opportunity, I applied for this position.
My goal in life is to study and work in the psychology field. I’m currently involved in many activities like the Civics Club, Principal Advisory Council, Art Club, LEOs, and will soon join the Mayor's Council for Women. But something I'm very proud of is starting my very own club: I am the co-founder and co-president of the Zen Club, which is a mental health awareness club. My friends and I started this club because mental health is not talked about as much as it should be. We noticed that there was no club focusing on mental health at our school, so we began this club. This club aspires to spread awareness and help those in need while providing a safe and fun environment for people struggling with issues just to relax and have fun; we teach people coping skills, relaxation skills, and mental health awareness. Although it's a new club, we are still working hard to make it accessible to people that need this type of club.
If I could tell my past self something, it would be, “don't stop trying no matter how low you feel in life, don't stop. I know how it feels when you can't go on anymore, and you wish it all stopped, but trust me, if you keep persevering, you will get somewhere in life where you feel comfortable.” While I'm at UnifiEd, I want to improve my writing capabilities and work ethic as well as help as many people as possible.
I am very honored to be a part of UnifiEd’s Student Voice Team, and I am very grateful for the opportunities that led me this way. My goal while at UnifiEd is to use my voice to provide help to students, teachers, and parents when they need it, to help bring academic opportunities to students who want them, and spread awareness on mental health and how it correlates to your health, academics, and behavior. I want to make it possible for people in Hamilton County to receive help when they need it the most.
